Knitting Groups on Saturday

Monday, August 13, 2007 · 7 Comments

On Saturday, I attended the meetings of both knitting groups to which I belong. One of them is really a crochet group, but they welcome other crafters too. That one met at 11:00 AM and twelve people had shown up before I left at 1:00 PM. The other group met at 2:00 PM, ended at 4:00 PM, and only three of us showed up. I was able to get lots of work done on the scarf for the swap, but was discouraged when I put it around my neck to see how much I really had done. Let’s just say it is a good thing I like this pattern.

Both groups made sure to comment on the needles I am using. I think they’re fantastic for kip. Husband gave them to me for Valentine’s Day this year.

Here is another pictures I took this morning while drinking my coffee. Excuse the clean laundry in the background.

You have new Picture Mail!

I know I said that I wasn’t going to show the full scarf, but I’m so proud of my progress that I’m editing my earlier vow and now am not going to post close up pictures.

    *gasp* its beautiful…

Its funny how scarves are. You think you’re doing so good, it’s bunched up a million times in your lap while working on it, and then you wrap it around your neck and see that it needs at least another 2 feet. :)

The scarf is looking very pretty – I love the pattern. Once you are done with this one, you can start in on Xmas gifts….lol!

Regarding your post at the YH blog: Do take your knitting to Nats’ games! I take mine to the Mets–parking is terrible so we get there early. Before the stands fill up and there’s people watching to do, I knit. Just knit something in team colors: how could anyone look askance at that?

BTW, Manny Acta’s doing a decent job for you–we miss him at Shea!

Yep… we consider him our Lucky cat because we rescued him from a horrible evil neighbour who had him declawed and then made him live outside and catch his own food. Whenever we’d walk from the car to the front door, he’d weave in and our of our legs until we’d pick him up and love him. He was nothing but skin and bones. One day, we finally asked the neighbours if we could adopt him and give him a home he deserved. They said yes, and ever since, he’s been my knitting/crochet buddy. :)

I probably only have another foot or so of your scarf, then the dreaded tassels. They always seem to take the longest. :)

Gasp! I’ve been tagged as a Rockin’ Girl Blogger? Would that make me “punk”? Or the fact that I wear all black 95% of the time and walk around like the creeping death?

I like skulls. That counts, right?
