Christmas 2007 was the first time husband and I have had a live tree. While it didn’t turn out the way we expected it, we still had to dispose of it. Right after New Years, husband took it out of the stand and put it on the patio while I researched options. I couldn’t find anything definitive and so it laid there for a week or two.
One night, I noticed that a neighbor had placed their tree behind the recycling bins next to the community trash cans. I rushed inside the house to tell husband. He placed our tree on top of the one already there and we hoped it would be gone the next evening.
Sure enough, the tree was gone. I don’t know where it went. My green side feels guilty about this, but the practical side told the green side to shut up.
