An Exercise in Futility….

I finished my first week of the job.

I’m exhausted.

The slight change in schedule and dress code combined with trying to learn many new names/faces and a new phone system was enough to make me want to drop into bed upon my arrival home from work every day. I believe I’m back with an organization where everyone is treated with respect and work/home balance is practiced – not just given lip service. The office closes at 4:15 every day and the idea of working late is frowned upon. I’ve laughed with friends several times this week that after years of avoiding job titles with any connotation of administrative work (despite enjoying those duties) I’ve taken a job with a title of “Secretary”—and couldn’t be happier (right now). Five week of vacation plus beau coup benefits will do that.
