Dear Postal Carrier:

Thank you for delivering our mail. We appreciate your timeliness and dedication to your job. That being said please don’t shove any more mail in my mailbox. Just prop it against my door (like you do with most other big items). Just because the box is 5”x8”x3” doesn’t mean that it fits in my 5.25”x8.25”x5 mailbox. Okay-dokey. Thanks again.

Love,

Me

Once I got the box out of the mailbox –which involved prying open the box while it was in the mailbox, extracting the contents (Notorious yarn, baybee!!!), and then trying to mash the box up for removal—I took the following picture of the colorway and the roving I received yesterday too. Yes, that’s more Plum & Berries (approximately 3.2 ounces) and eight ounces of natural roving too. I’m very excited.

The Notorious colorway cracks me up. I’m a little fuzzy on the actual name, but it’s inspired by the colors one gets when Kool-Aid is used as a dye. Why Kool-Aid? Reverend Jim Jones. More details about the sock yarn club can be found here. I sold the first two months worth of yarn (Hannibal Lecter and Mme. DeFarge) because while I liked them, they weren’t my cup of tea. This months and May’s however, LOVE THEM!!!

On the Tour de Fleece front, I started my plying on Tuesday evening after knitting group. (I spent Sunday and Monday evening winding my singles off the spindle into little cakes.) I’m pleased with my progress and took the mess with me to our impromptu knitting night last night too. I bought more roving because it is beautiful and a dream to work with (and I also want to have enough for someone to make something semi-substantial with). I doubt I’ll actually knit it up myself as I’m sure I’ll be tired of the colors by the time I finally get around to it. (Note to self: need to take pics of this)

My friend, Joanna, is organizing Knitting Olympics for our group. I’m going to wuss out and not choose a new challenging pattern to work on. Instead, my goal is to actually finish a couple of my WIPs. I swear, I’m such a spastic (and slow) knitter. A quick mental count shows that I have 9 projects on the needles (one of them is almost two years old and another is a year old).
