Nine Years Ago
Let’s see. Nine years ago from this summer, I was traveling cross country with 24 other university students, three faculty, two staff, and a handful of other chaperones in vans with a big truck for our gear. The trip was awesome and continues to shape who I am today.
While on that trip, we visited a little town named Butte. Butte, Montana in fact. We were there for it’s geological and mineral history. Butte is also home to Our Lady of the Rockies on the continental divide. We dubbed her: Big Scary Mary.
Whenever this trip comes up, Big Scary Mary is always fun to discuss. At this rate, I’ll blog about her every summer at about this time until I stop blogging.
If you ever have a chance to go see her, you must. She’s pretty awesome.
