An Exercise in Futility….

I’m a planner. My execution isn’t always there, but I almost always have a long-term plan in mind. When I graduated from college, the five year plan looked like this:

2003: Get married
2004: Pay off credit cards
2005: Buy a house
2006: European vacation
2007: Have a kid

The plan was drafted presuming that we would be living in small-town Georgia. We obviously do not live there now, nor do we have children (yet – they are still in the plan, just with a different time horizon). The European vacation almost happened, but my cousin got married in Mobile, Alabama instead.

I keep trying to figure out our plan now. My career plan went out the window a long time ago. Husband’s career has not been predictable and there are too many variables right now for us to make plans farther than 6-12 months out. Must.be.patient.so.hard.for.me.to.do.
