Maddening People

I work with some real characters. One who will throw his team members under the bus so that he comes out smelling like roses. Another who pitches a fit if things are not perfect and always finds a way to make it your fault even if you were not responsible in the first place. A third who calls in sick with the most ridiculous reasons when they are already on promotion for pulling similar stuff over the summer. Conversely, there are the other secretaries who are wonderful, empathic, and helpful. Additionally, my boss is one of the kindest and fairest persons I know. For every goofball here, there are two or three fantastic people.

I recognize that every work place has its issues. Even so, at the end of the day, I am so thankful to be where I am right now – mentally, physically, and emotionally. My job is not stressful and I have had maybe four bad days since I started here at the end of June. It has been almost a year since I decided to leave the investment firm. At the end of my time there, most every day was a bad day. My, how times have changed…

I like how this post is titled “Maddening People,” but you’re actually at a pretty happy, positive place by the end of it :)

I also like the snow! I should get out of the feed reader more often!
