Life on My Own Terms

Philosopy

I’ve said it in interviews and countless meetings. I’ve (sorta) abandoned it when I took the current job at the labor union.

What is “it”?

Client service is my passion. Client is king. Everyone you interact with could be viewed as a client. Put in another way, treating people respectfully is my passion. Positive interpersonal relations are what we strive for.

That being said, I’m regularly struck by people not realizing this. It’s the daily interactions with our CFO’s secretary or the surly-sounding Metro train driver.

When did we stop being nice to each other? When did it become acceptable to not communicate with each other?

At the end of the day, client service is still my passion. I’m just less involved with it than I used to be.

(and I miss it)
