Yellow Laundry in Burano, originally uploaded by sfxeric.
Oh my goodness.
This Sunday is rapidly approaching (yea!) and the house is a mess (boo!) and I’m running out of time to get my laundry list of things I wanted to do around the house done before husband comes home. Neither of us are particularly obsessive about our housecleaning and in the absence of irritating him with my messiness, I’ve not done a lot of tidying over the last few months. I know what I’ll be doing tonight (after knitting), tomorrow (after yoga), Thursday (after chiropractor appointment), and Friday evening (if I don’t hang out with the girls). Saturday is pretty much off the table as I have plans all day long and expect to be exhausted when I get home.
I stopped by the bar on my way to pick up the boys last night so that I could eat dinner (yummy salmon special) and had the chance to ask Bartender Evan about whether or not there was going to be a private party there on July 31. There isn’t, so we are in the clear to take over the Lounge for hubby’s welcome home party. I had originally planned for it to be a surprise, but had to let the cat out of the bag when hubby started making plans for himself from the big sandbox.
People keep asking me what we’re going to do when he gets home. Are we going on any trips? Am I taking any time off of work? We’re not going anywhere and I’m not taking more than a few days off. We’ve planned a trip to Jamaica for the first week in December (thank you CorporateMonkey for the discount email), we’re going with some of my family to Panama City Beach, Florida over Labor Day weekend, and I want us to take some day/weekend trips in September and November.
I may be completely off my rocker, but from knowing my husband, I’d say that for his two weeks off of work all he really wants to do is get reacquainted with our life (honey-let me know if I’m wrong). I suspect we’ll go see some movies, eat at Five Guys, go to the bar, go to the gym, eat at Harry’s, sit by the pool, and just enjoy each other’s company (wink, wink nudge, nudge).
He is my husband, lover, partner, best friend, and one of the kindest, caring people I know. I’m glad he’s coming home.
Darling – I love you.
