I love my weekend morning routine. The dogs usually wake me up just before 6 AM. Quick walk and b’fast for them - water for me and back to bed. Jake decided to wake me up between 8 and 9 AM and once again, we go on a walk. By then, the fact that I’m awake is enough for them. Upon our return home, I make coffee, refill the water bottle, grab a light breakfast, and set up shop at the Command Center (a.k.a the bed). I’ll probably sit here until 11 or so and will talke with husband over internet telephony, read knitting blogs, and catch up on the work news. Unfortunately, the next step involves starting my day…
sillydoggies….wait. Hubby & I have done plenty of playing this week. We’ve gone out several times for last hurrahs before he leaves next week.
We’re both dragging today and plan on spending a quiet weekend at home - just the two of us. Some nice meals. A little bit of shopping. Some quality time with the boys.
On the knitting front, I’m working on two Clapotis right now. One for me and one for Mom. I’m so in love with the one for Mom right now. I’m using this yarn (in the Yellow/slate 230 colorway) and loving it!!!

I don’t think the picture does the color justice.
Enjoy your weekend. As hubby would say, don’t get arrested.
After my marathon (for me) session at the gym, I didn’t want to go home. I drove into town and parked my car. I knew where I wanted to go and knew that I probably shouldn’t. It was cold outside and I wasn’t really dressed properly for the weather. I stopped and bought a cup of coffee and a croissant. While enjoying my snack, I gave myself a little talking to about priorities and then walked out the door.
Where did I go? Exactly where I shouldn’t have gone.
I won’t describe my visit in detail, but I had a wonderful time. I had to force myself to be chatty when I arrived, but quickly warmed up to the staff person. I came home with beautiful yarn (such as this, this, and this) and am looking forward to going back. Even more so because the DPNs I picked up to purchase didn’t make it out of the basket I was carrying and into my shopping bag.
