Eastern Market (Washington Metro)

Image via Wikipedia

Husband and I went out for Valentine’s Day, but wanted to try the restuarant again since the menu that night wasn’t their standard. My birthday presented the perfect opportunity since my aunt would be in town and Eastern Market is easier for hubs to get to after work compared to Dupont or Farragut.

We arrived a few minutes late for our reservation and hubs was already at the bar enjoying a Belgian beer. They were out of Kwak for the evening and after sitting at our table, my aunt and I tried the reccommended organic white beer the waiter suggested. Yummy. A cheese plate and crap & chicken “cigars” for appetizers. My entree was the beef stew with frites and red cabbage. Hubs had the venison and my aunt had the rib-eye.

I can’t remember if we had dessert, but dinner was enjoyable and we plan on going back. It has a very different atmosphere from the other Belgian place we love and I’m going to get the mussels next time.
