Art on the Avenue

I volunteered on Ravelry to help Knit-A-Gogo by providing a spinning on a drop spindle demo today at Art on the Avenue. I spun for two hours, got slightly sunburned, and had a great time. My friend, DJ, lives just up the street and he kept me company for about 45 minutes before he met up with a few friends. When we finished at 1:00 PM, I met up with him and the friends for lunch. We had crabcake sandwiches (YUMMY) while sitting on the curb outside our favorite bar. This lovely dog (all 102 pounds of him) was sitting next to us and even came over to say hi. He was beautiful.

102 lb
We walked back up the avenue where husband picked me up. I came home and took a nap. I was tired.

Morning Routine

Breakfast

Breakfast, originally uploaded by day_sargent.

Husband and I did something this morning that we haven’t done in a while.

We sat with our coffee and read the paper.

Amazing.

I should elaborate though. I sat outside on the patio with the dogs laying at my feet and the mid-morning sun streaming down. He sat inside the house with the Olympics muted on the TV. He started out outside, but moved inside as the temperature increased.

Even so, it was nice as this was something we used to do together pre-dogs, pre-cable tv, etc…

Last Night

without comments

I didn’t go to knitting group as planned last night. I got home from work, quickly walked and fed the boys, stripped out of the monkey suit, and crawled in bed.* I didn’t wake up except to talk to husband twice – the first time to let him know of the dog’s walk status (and this was after he had been home a while and walked them again) and the second to ask for a glass of water when he woke me up to make me move over when he came to bed. Otherwise, I was dead to the world. I didn’t hear husband’s arrival home. I didn’t hear the alarm this morning. I didn’t hear the return home from the morning walk when Lucky usually makes a racket. I didn’t hear anything.

When I did rouse myself out of bed around 6:40 AM this morning, I felt like a real human again. No chills like yesterday morning and as today has progressed, no fever. Much better. It is questionable, however, as to whether or not I’m going to the gym tonight. I feel like I should, but don’t want to push it. I’m thinking the dogs will get individual long walks instead followed by a series of squats and lunges in our living room. (ha ha, the mental image of that is hysterical to me)

*Careful readers may notice that this sentence doesn’t include any mention of a blog posting. See, I’m tricky like that. I sometimes write several posts at once and then delay publishing so that I have regularly updated content. This is what I did for last night’s post about the gym and my goals.
:-D
