An Exercise in Futility….

IMHO, not a strong at the first one. That being said, still funny.

For whatever reason, work is being done on the front of our office building. Word on street is that the entrance will now have a water feature and a bronze relief mural depicting our members. Never mind the fact that the former edifice was in great shape and was simple and understated. Never mind the wasted water. Never mind that the money could be spent elsewhere for the benefit of our members.

Our first hint that something was going on was when the construction fences went up. No memo. No email. No other advance notice. We lost the ledge on which we (the women) balanced to change our shoes. Now we have jackhammers and other construction noise right below us. The best part – this will be going on for at least six months and a mailroom employee was my source for most of this information. Classic!!
