…to a friend’s house for dinner. She lives a couple of blocks from me and I was walking across a major road (at the crosswalk) toward her home. Suddenly, I heard a crash and looked up to see that a car that had been trying to make a U-turn had misjudged the turn and had hit a light pole.

Thank goodness the driver wasn’t going to fast. The car was also a late model something. Instead of getting out to see what the damage was, the driver backed the car up, corrected the steering wheel and went on its merry way. As for the light pole, I didn’t see any damage from my location, but I’ll take a look at it when I walk the dogs tomorrow.

My best friend from high school is getting married on October 19. I am one of four bridesmaids and can’t wait to meet the two I’ve not met yet (the other is her sister). The bride mailed my dress to me weeks ago and I put off taking it to have it hemmed and pressed.
During my lunch break today, I drive over to a local dry cleaners to see about the alterations. I stepped into their tiny changing room, slipped on the dress, and changed my shoes. I stepped out of the dressing room and realized that the dress (with the right shoes) required ZERO hemming. That’s a big deal for me since I’m 5′2″ in barefeet. Woo-hoo. The lady at the shop even recommended that I not have the dress pressed because it didn’t need it and I would be traveling with it.
Even better. Can’t wait for the wedding!!!
