Taking Out the Trash
What I should have done this weekend…
I was busy tonight and the boys are starved for attention.
I couldn’t stand it any longer. I loaded the dishwasher. I put away clean dishes. I hand washed the rest of the dishes. I unloaded the dishwasher after it ran. I took out the trash. I swept the kitchen floor. I started laundry. I folded a good bit of the clean laundry on the table. I put my folded clothes away. I changed the sheets. I took out the recycling. I walked the dogs.
Okay. Now I can start my week right.
Husband is at a conference this week. I already miss him, but will survive my last week in the office just fine without him. My to do list is already slim, but the stuff on it are the items I’m not excited about. I’ll need to buckle down starting tomorrow to knock it all out. I already have a few job search related things planned for next week. It surprises people when they find out I haven’t applied for any positions yet and don’t have any interviews lined up. I want to make sure I give the current job the attention it deserves these last few days in the office and feel like I would be compromising the quality of my cover letters and such by working during the day and working (at getting a new job) at night.
Busy weekend…
In addition to cooking two chooks on Friday night, we spent a lot of time cleaning our house. This doesn’t seem like a big deal, except that two dogs, two humans, and 834 square feet of living space does not make an ideal storage situation. To alleviate some of our pain, I had a 5×7×8 storage unit delivered yesterday morning. We started moving furniture around yesterday and started loading it into the unit today. So much better!!! They’ll come pick it up on Tuesday.
We also went to a friend’s house for a par-tay last night. We enjoyed visiting our friends and got home at around 2:15 this morning. J-dog decided to take his sweet time in “taking care of his business” and I didn’t get to bed until after 3 AM. Oh, and it was raining too.Another friend came over this morning for pancakes and turkey bacon at 9:30 AM. She’s headed to Cancun tomorrow and it was great to see her before she left. The pancakes weren’t my best effort, but I’m out of practice. We’ll see if we can’t remedy that.
