We’re enjoying having a Saturday in the middle of the week at our house. We’ve been to the dog park and now are hanging out at home. Nothing too exciting going on. It is currently 74 degrees outside and sunny. Gonna be a great day…

Sunday

My mom is coming to visit this week (Yeah!!!) and our house was filthy (boo!!!). Not just “I have too much stuff sitting out and need to put it away…” Instead our house screamed “HOW DID YOU LET IT GET THIS BAD!!! YOU HAVE TWO DOGS!! THE HAIR…THE DUST…”

So…we spent all day Sunday (post dog park in the am) cleaning the house. A top to bottom, move all the furniture to vacuum, pull out the steam cleaner job.

We were exhausted by 7:00 PM and were so glad we had done it. Mind you, we took several breaks throughout the day, otherwise, we would have never gotten it all done. I’m tempted to take pictures of my clean (but still cluttered) house. Hey, that’s what you get for living in a one bedroom, 834 square foot condo with two dogs and two humans. :)

Now I’m ready for Mom to arrive. I’m taking some time off work and we’re going to have a blast.

I read various blogs through Google Reader every day and “star” the ones that I want to save for later. This is a blog posting that I keep re-reading. And this is one that I should read every single day of my life…

Husband and I have never been rich (nor have we ever been poor), but we definitely bought into the idea of having money equals the ability to buy pricey toys because “we’ve worked hard” and “we deserve this.” Now that we’ve bought all of the toys we could want (and then some), I’m having a real issue with the massive consumer footprint I’ve created for myself. Starting to work with the “less is more” principle in my life…we’ll see how that goes.
