Sweet Sound
While I was driving into work this morning, I heard a trumpet. As I passed the performer at the corner of 18th and H Streets NW, I couldn’t help but smile. It was a sweet sound and certainly only something you hear when you work downtown in a city. Wonderful.
Movin’ on Up

New Office, originally uploaded by queued.
I start the new job tomorrow. While cooking b’fast this morning, husband asked me if I was excited. My answer was a resounding “yes.” While I’ve enjoyed hanging around the house for the last month, it’s time to join the working world. I’m ready to work with people that enjoy working together and are excited about having me on board. Being downtown will be icing on the cake.
In other news, I’ll be spending my day in the kitchen (by choice). I want to make soup with the chicken stock I made in January and I want to make veggie stock for the freezer.
Vacay
There’s nothing like walking around a futuristic theme park at dusk on a Wednesday with a beer in my hand. That’s the sign of a true vacation.
I’m at MCO right now waiting to board the plane to head back to DCA. I’m ready to go home. My aunt and I had a wonderful time and I’m so glad she invited me to join her. I bought myself a watch with my birthday money from Mom & Dad. I also recommend staying on property to anyone who visits the huge corporate theme parks in Orlando. So worth it. We stayed at the one with the wild animals. Too cool. There’s very few things like waking up to giraffes standing outside your balcony.
I start the new job on Monday (I’ll write another post about this sometime over the weekend) and tomorrow is my wedding anniversary. It will be a quiet weekend, but I’m looking forward to jumping back into the working world.
