Sally the camel has…
For the past three days, I have been guzzling water. I feel like something is wrong with me, but I know that this is just my body’s way of getting me ready for the summer heat - especially since I’ll be running (outside) a lot this summer.
I forgot to turn my alarm clock off last night and the boys wouldn’t let me go back to sleep this morning. Thus, I’ve been awake since 6:20 and am now sitting on the patio enjoying my coffee, my water, and the chirping birds. If I can keep this up for the next three weekends, I can cross a goal off my list.
Speaking of the goal list, I feel like I’m failing because I haven’t gotten more done. When I step back and look at the list though, I realize that a lot of it is food related and it isn’t fun to cook for one person. The knitting related ones have been started (except for Hanami). I keep having to remind myself that I don’t need to rush through things.
Knitting group meets today. As much as I would love to work on Clapotis, I think I need to work on my submission to the Nipple Project. Knitting pasties (which I don’t think I discussed here, but certainly discussed in rl) was lots of fun and this will be a nice warm up for Pasties Swap, Version 2.0.
Off to refill the water bottle and then off to the gym in a bit. I just remembered I’m running a 5k in 8 days. Um. I think that is going to suck.
No New Pictures
I don’t have any new pictures today, but I am pleased to report that I finished the second leaf of the helmet liner I’m making for my fil. Taking the train to and from NY is a great way to knock out some work. Woo-hoo! On 3 leaves are left.
These three paperclips…

…saved me a lot of time and trouble.
During my lunch break at work today, I pulled out the sock to work a few rows. I was having problems concentrating on my book and was glad for the diversion. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that I had dropped seven stitches. Coworker across the hall didn’t have her usual tool kit with (which would have contained a crochet hook). Other knitting coworker wasn’t at her desk. It was time to improvise.
After about 10 minutes of silent cursing and desperate thoughts of frogging it all, I made it work. Thank goodness.
Crisis averted.
