Movie Night
A few of us got together last night to watch a movie. We laughed. Eliza cooked (and damn, she’s a good cook) and we laughed (a lot). Joanna did some destashing and dying and good times were had by all. Here are a few pictures I took during the evening.

I saw this movie last night..

totally effing awesome [365.113], originally uploaded by flint knits.…and didn’t quite know what to think. I love the main actor and really like it when he collaborates with the director. Need to mull it over a bit.On the plus side, I got to catch up with a friend I had not seen since in a few weeks. In the interim, she went to Cancun with the boyfriend and started a new job. Lots to hear about. It is always great to see her.
Today is progressing similarly to yesterday. It’s 1:11 PM and I’m sitting in bed with two sleeping dogs. Husband is playing WOW and I’m cruising the interwebs. I forsee a nap in my future.
BTW - we made pancakes for a late brunch. Much better than the last attempt. So yummy.
Thankful for good friends
I love long weekends. This one (Labor Day weekend) was great because the weather was beautiful. After husband left on Sunday to go out of town for the week, I saw a movie (by myself) and stayed up way too late. The boys and I made use of our patio Sunday night as I sat outside, finished a book, drank two beers, and smoked two cigars. It was fantastic and J-dog behaved pretty well.
My Monday was equally relaxing. Upon waking up (for the second time) at 9:15 AM, a good friend called so we could finalize our plans for the day. Ten minutes later, she called back. She was stressed out and asked if we could change our plans. Within 15 minutes, I was walking out the door with the dogs, my knitting, the newspaper, snacks, and dog toys to head to her house for the day.
I got there around 10:00 AM and we had a grand time. She did laundry, mowed her yard, and pulled out the sewing machine to hem pants. I knitted and fussed over the boys. They loved her back yard. :)
It was nice to get some knitting done, but it was also nice just to be. This friend and I are very close and I enjoy her company more than she’ll ever know. We’re both only children and we have similar perspectives on life. We laughed, ate cheese and crackers, drank lambic and relaxed. She is a wonderful woman and I’m glad she counts me among her friends.
