I got up with every intention of going to work today. I walked the dogs. Ate breakfast. Took a shower. Got dressed. As I was gathering up my things, I realized how horrible I felt and that my fever was back. I notified work and crawled back into bed.
I’ve been awake for almost two hours now. This is the second longest stretch of time since Tuesday night that I’ve been awake. The first was last night - 5 hours between 5 PM and 10 PM. That should have been my first clue that I wasn’t ready to go back to work.
We have our bedroom windows open as it is such a beautiful day outside. I actually feel like I’m alive and that I’m not a zombie. I have a feeling that our weekend will be spent as the last three days were - lots of sleep, soup, and stumbling walks with the dogs.

I should have paid attention to my lack of energy on Sunday. I went to work Monday and then spent most of Monday evening in bed. I went to work on Tuesday, but should have stayed home. I did not go yesterday or today and will probably not be going in tomorrow.
I’ve had the flu. My fever broke this morning and the last few days have been awful. Now husband has it too and the dogs are so tired of us being slugs. Husband was cute yesterday when he came home from work early. He said that he couldn’t have the flu because he got the flu shot this year. I chuckled and told him that they guessed wrong on which strain would be popular this year and that the flu shot was basically worthless. Oh well.
I woke up this morning feeling awful. I won’t go into details, but let’s just say I’ve spent most of the day in bed in my pajamas and woke up a few minutes ago from a three hour nap. The fever broke and I feel better than I’ve felt all day.
On the job front, we’ve had some interesting developments. I’m still doing some work for the old company, but have been presented with an odd opportunity.
On the knitting front, I’ve made headway on Dad’s helmet liner (I’m about 5 rows from finishing it up) and the footlets are done. I haven’t woven in any of the ends, but they were fun to knit and gave me enough confidence to start a sock. Top down versus the toe up from the fall, but a sock nonetheless.
