M-I-L Socks
My mil’s socks are coming along swimmingly. Because the weather at the beach cooperated, I did not spend time knitting. I was able, however, to put in quality knitting time on the flights there and back. I’m very eager to turn the heel and have to keep reminding myself that these socks need to be a bit longer and that I need to be patient. I have knit a few more rows since these pictures were taken, but wanted to include some color in this post. Enjoy!
What is the next big push?
When the Knotty Knitting Olympics were over and I finished my mom’s Clapotis, I took a look at my WIPs and evaluated. What should I work on?
My mother-in-law came to town in April and we took a trip to a local yarn store. She picked out yarn for a pair of socks and off we went.

I started and frogged the socks multiple times over the last four months. I began them again in earnest on Tuesday and am pleased with my progress. This will be the only project I take with me to the beach. We will see if I come home with a finished sock or two.
Tour de Fleece
I forgot to let y’all know that I crashed a few climbs back and broke my collar bone. I’m out for this year’s Tour. I’m just glad I didn’t cause a huge pile-up on the way.
In reality, I would have needed to be more diligent about plying. Instead, I reacquainted myself with the Clap I’m knitting for my mom and started knitting a sock for my mother-in-law. Summer is generally a time of year where I don’t want to be at home and toting the cakes of singles with me plus the coffee mugs I use to keep them from getting (too) tangled wasn’t really fun. Sock knitting is much more portable for to/from work and the Clap travels nicely on airplanes.
